A one day national seminar on the theme “Manipuri Language: Aspect of History, Policy, Education and Tribal Languages” was held on 21st February, 2023 at Mini Conference Hall of Y.K. College, Wangjing in obvervance of Matribhasa Diwas. The seminar was jointly organised by the Internal Quality Assurrance Cell (IQAC), Research Committee and Department of Manipuri of the college. Under the chairmanship and patronage of Dr. S. Giri Singh, Principal of the college, the organising committee of the seminar is constituted by Dr. L. Gopen Singh, Co-ordinator (IQAC) as Vice Chairman; Dr. L. Anand Singh, Asstt. Professor of Manipuri as Convenor; Dr. N. Binoy Singh, Asstt. Professor of Manipuri as Co-convenor and N. Jayenta Meitei, Nodal Officer (IT) as organising secretary along with various other members.
Dr. S. Giri Singh, Principal, Y.K. College presided the function.
Dr. H. Surmangol Sharma, Associate Professor, Dept. of Linguistics, Manipur University conducted the technical session of the seminar as Moderator.
Altogether, three resource persons gave talks on relevant topics in the seminar.
Dr. L. Bijenkumar Singh, Asstt. Professor, Centre for Naga Tribal Languages Studies, Nagaland University spoke on “Language Endangerment and Languages of North East India”. At the end of the session, he was given the Special Award of Appreciation sponsored by the patron/chairman of the organising committee.
Dr. Sh. Ghanashyam Singh, Asstt. Professor, Manipuri Department of the college gave a talk on “Linguistic Taboo in Manipuri Language”. 
Dr. L. Anand Singh, Asstt. Professor & HOD, Manipuri Department of the college spoke on the topic “History of Manipuri Languages from 1885 onwards”.

P. Somarendra Singh, Assoc. Professor and N. Andropov Singh, Asstt. Professor, English Department of the college were rapporteurs during the technical session.
